Advanced Electronics training in the US Navy and after graduating worked as an Electronics Technician on a Nuclear Submarine.
Associates in Computer Science with a minor in math from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Worked for South Central Bell as an Electronics Engineering Assistant in the early to mid-1980’s.
Began Locksmithing in late 80’s part-time
Full Time in 1992.
When I started in Locksmithing I made many special tools because at the time there weren’t a lot of automotive tools. I made a Vats Interrogator because we had no way to interrogate Vats Cars at the time. When Chip keys began appearing on vehicles I knew that was the future and began my investment in equipment to make keys to those vehicles. I was ready when the 1st Mustang came out in 1995 with a transponder system. I had already ordered an NGS.
I have been a contributor since the late 90’s to Michael Hyde’s Auto Smart Books.
I started doing work for a small Auction in 2004 which has grown to be the largest Auction in the area. I’ve done Auction work going on 17 years at the same place. We make keys to 20 to 60 cars a day currently. I must be able to provide a solution for any vehicle, boat, camper, tractor, motorcycle, 4 wheeler, etc. plus have diagnostic capabilities and be able to do coding.
I have instructed at Just Cars, our local Locksmith Association and have done other classes for Vag and BMW. I do Tech Support for Abrites, Zed Full, and ACDP. I have direct contact with the ACDP engineers and talk with them almost every evening. I have helped them with many recent solutions and improvements they have made.
I am very glad to help UHS provide a great class and training for the ACDP. I consider this tool to be my number one go-to for BMW. I also like the Porsche and Jaguar/Land Rover functions because their solution minimizes the risk of module damage.
